Earlier this month, three SAM employees braved the muck and cold at Castlewellan Forest Park to raise money for the Cancer Fund for Children.

The event saw competitors covered in mud from head to toe as they powered through what can only be described as ‘natures assault course’ around the lake at Castlewellan Forest Park.  By taking part in this adrenalin-fuelled Bog Run, the SAM ladies were helping families affected by cancer get through the most difficult time of their lives.

SAM employees Grace Cahoon (HR & Training Manager), Lynne Strange (Finance Coordinator) and Roisin Moran (HR Advisor) joined over 200 other willing participants and battled through the obstacles around the 5km course.

Lynne commented, “I really enjoyed the event.  Parts of the course were very challenging and dropping into Castlewellan lake at the end took my breath away (literally!) but it was great fun and it was for a brilliant cause.  We were really proud of how much we raised.”

The team raised £669 for the Cancer Fund for Children, which will go towards providing practical, emotional and financial support to children and young people affected by cancer and their families.

Well done ladies – we are proud of you too!
