The SAM team can indeed have their cake and eat it!

The SAM team joined forces for a Bake Sale last month with staff baking some delicious treats to sale in order to raise funds for their charity partner Cancer Fund for Children.

The Bake Sale kicked off on Thursday 11^th February and was held over 2 days on site at SAM.  Staff from all shifts got involved with buying some tasty homemade cakes and buns and washing these down with some complimentary tea and coffee.

Donna McKeown, Customer Service Co-Ordinator at SAM said: “I really love baking and always jump at the chance to bake, especially when it is for such a good cause!”

Thanks to the staff’s sweet tooth, the Bake Sale raised a massive £368.14 which will all go towards the £10,000 fundraising target.   All of the money raised will help the Cancer Fund for Children to support children and young people affected by cancer.

Michelle McNeill, Marketing Manager at SAM, said: “I am really pleased with how the SAM team have once again come together to support this great cause.  Funding activities such as travel to and from hospital or hospital parking can make life a little bit easier for families during these very difficult times and it is great to see so many SAM team members volunteer to generate these funds.”
