SAM has announced Marie Curie as its new charity partner for this financial year.

After choosing from a list of various different charities, the team voted to partner with Marie Curie commencing March 2023.

Marie Curie is the UK’s leading end of life charity, offering support on all aspects of terminal illness, death and bereavement. With specialist support and care, they create a warm and welcoming environment for those living with or experiencing terminal illness.

The team has kicked off fundraising activities by supporting the Great Daffodil Appeal with their Yellow Day in March, raising a total of £372. The SAM HR team has also organised a step challenge during the month of May to raise funds for the charity.

SAM has successfully raised money for their chosen charity partner each year, with last year’s total amounting to £5,000 in aid of Cancer Research UK.

Trudy Stammer, Head of Volunteer Fundraising at Cancer Research UK said, “The generosity of supporters like SAM enables Cancer Research UK to lead the world in discovering and developing newer, kinder treatments to get closer to cures.

“Please extend our warmest thanks to everyone who helped make this thoughtful gift possible. We really do appreciate it and we promise to make it count.”

Shauna McErlain, SAM HR Manager added, “The SAM team work together every year to raise funds for our nominated charity with a lot of effort and generosity. It is great to hear how our proceeds help aid the work of these organisations.”

The team hope to replicate last year’s success with fundraising activities for Marie Curie.
